The story of MBSA National
It started with one chapter at the University of Michigan in 2000. In 2025, those chapters came together as MBSA National, one platform connecting Muslim business students across the country to community, leadership, and opportunity.

Built by students, for students.
The first Muslim Business Students Association chapter was formed in 2000 at the University of Michigan. It gave Muslim students in business a place to find each other, build careers together, and keep their values in the room while they did it.
Over the next two decades, chapters kept popping up on campuses across the country. Each one worked, and each one started from scratch: no shared playbook, no shared partners, no way to pass opportunities between campuses.
In 2025, the decision was made to consolidate and form MBSA National. Our first initiative was The Muslim Business Conference, whose inaugural reception took place in April 2026 at The Fairmont Downtown Chicago to a sold-out 600-person crowd. It was the first Muslim business conference hosted in the Midwest.
Mission
MBSA National's goal is to get more Muslims into business, train them to become the best at business, and make sure they remain Muslim while entering the business workforce.
Vision
To build an MBSA network present in every city and university in North America, then expand internationally so Muslim business students everywhere can find community and opportunity.

Opportunities students cannot reach alone.
MBSA National holds relationships that open doors for members: recruiting pipelines into major firms, live projects with large companies, private internship and job postings, and introductions to operators and investors across our partner network.
At select chapters, students can apply and interview for the MBSA Analyst Program. After training, analysts match with Mosaic for consulting and finance or B132 for startups and tech, based on their interests.
Resource the students. Get out of the way.
National leadership does not run campus life. Chapters do. Our job is to remove friction: give leaders a playbook, a budget model, a regional director who answers quickly, and access to partners they could not reach alone.
We treat chapter presidents like founders. They set the agenda for their campus, and national measures itself on whether they succeed.
